I finished this most recent @edgarriceburroughsinc Universe novel—the last in the Sword of Eternity super-arc—some time ago, but I forgot to post about it. I wanted to say so much about it that I ended up saying nothing. I am really loving the whole ERB Universe series, and this may be my favorite one to date. It’s the first not starring an established Burroughs character, but Victory Harben and her story fit right in. I feel like this is possibly the best way forward for ERB Inc: we’ll-written novels inspired by Burroughs, set in his worlds, inspired by his storytelling, but moving beyond the tropes of their time and diversifying the heroes beyond a bunch of white dudes created like 100 years ago.
