EDF - Lights up Football (renewably? I'm not so sure!)
I remember the days of my youth when we would play on any surface, in any space, with any size ball or even a can or stone; as long food wasn't on the table, when most homework was complete and of course until there was light!
This video almost brings back that innocent and nostalgic feeling of starting a life long love affair with the beautiful game, I'm sure it would have full effect if it was less americanised and shot in the North of England! All the same, I like the concept and aesthetics.
What I'd like more is for EDF to providing more renewable energy to home and business whilst making commercials to educate and set a precedence in the fight against climate change. Â Â
EDF Raises Prices by 3.9%
EDF announced this morning that it is the latest ‘Big Six’ energy supplier to raise gas and electricity prices.
This rise, which will affect many of it’s 3.7 million residential customers, will come into effect on 3rd January 2014 and will take its standard variable price up to around £1300 a year, a rise of £49.
Although the rise of 3.9 per cent  is less than half of the ‘big six’ suppliers who have raised prices so far, it still is almost double the current UK rate of inflation, which for October stood at 2.2%.
With consumer trust in energy suppliers at an all time low, ministers are calling for energy companies to ‘open up their books’ to show if they are actually trying to minimise tariffs or working to maximise profits for shareholders by using the vulnerable, such as the poor and the elderly, as cash cows in order to keep shareholders happy.
The recent price increases by the big six have seen a storm of protest, with many voting with their feet. It was recently reported that First Utility, one of the smaller UK energy suppliers, had witnessed a foot fall of 100,000 for its tariffs, so much so that it has found it struggled to keep up with demand.
It is important for UK energy customers to realise that they do have options when it comes to choosing a new or alternative energy supplier.
In a recent survey by Which? magazine, only two of the main suppliers made it into the Top Ten when it came to customer satisfaction, which proves that customers are not only missing out on savings but they could also be missing out on better levels of customer service too.
