• eddie is part of the girls wine night - once every two weeks the girls (maddie, athena, may, karen and hen) meet up and have wine night where they eat snacks and gossip and drink wine at karen and hen’s house. eddie ended up there one night as he was helping karen and hen out with something and he just ended up joining from then onwards. none of the boys know this.

• eddie is scared of spiders - eddie is always seen to be this big strong man who isn’t afraid of anything… until a spider appears. no one knew about this fear other than christopher, who finds it absolutely hilarious. when buck found first out, him and chris did this big prank on eddie with a fake spider but they never ended up pranking him with a spider ever again after the way he reacted and his near panic attack over it.

• eddie had a gay crisis when first discovering he liked men (shock) - after shannon died, eddie never really experienced feelings for women like he did with her. at first he thought that he just wasn’t quite over shannon, but soon he realised that he was gaining those feelings for his best friend buck. after recognising this he ended up having some internalised homophobia towards himself as he felt like he was wrong for feeling the way he did. eventually it got too much for him and he broke down and showed up on hens doorstep where he told her everything and she helped him get through it all and he was finally able to accept himself.

• eddie once tried to k!ll himself - chris had just moved away to texas and eddie didn’t know how to cope. he was trying to stay positive, especially around the team, but on the inside he was breaking. one night he sat alone and had a few beers and decided he couldn’t do it anymore. he drunkenly rang bobby and started saying that bobby is such a great dad and he wishes he was just like him but then proceeded to drunkenly tell bobby his plan. of course bobby had stopped eddie and sat him down and spoke to him. bobby swore to keep it a secret from the rest of the team as long as eddie got help. from then bobby secretly kept a close eye on eddie.

now, i’m not one of those people who are aggressively set on a certain character being a top or bottom, but, i do think that eddie is a bottom (most of the time). nowadays bottom eddie diaz is more common than previously but i still see a lot of people set on eddie being a top and buck being a bottom so i thought id share my opinions on their roles.

i think that eddie and buck are switches but eddie is normally the bottom and buck is normally the top. it just makes more sense in my head this way. for example, buck has been with men before where eddie has only ever been with women so buck has a lot more experience in bed with men than eddie does. whilst this doesn’t mean that eddie has to be a bottom and buck has to be a top, i think it would make sense that buck is helping eddie find his boundaries and experience new things. i think the first time eddie tops he would panic because, even though he has topped with women, he has never topped with a man and he would be worried about if he’s doing it right or if he’s doing a good job or maybe he just doesn’t know what he’s doing, and so buck would help him again. again none of this means he has to be a bottom as he could experience this and still prefer to be a top, but in my head it just fits as a reason why he mostly bottoms.
