So it's finals week and I'm way behind. I've had a bunch of things happening all at once, but I'm ready to grind it all out now.
A few notable things:
I was accepted to participate in this year's summer research experience for undergrads at the University of Alabama in Huntsville!! I will be spending 10 weeks in Huntsville studying heliophysics with university astrophysicists and NASA scientists. Only 10 students got selected nationally, so im BEYOND excited!!!
I passed my 2nd calculus exam (I was convinced I bombed it miserably lol) with a much higher grade than I expected
I declared two minors: one in computer science and the other in philosophy :D
I got to spend the weekend in DC with my partner! We saw Sullivan King at echostage and went sightseeing. We rode the amtrak train to and from DC which makes this my first train experience aside from the metro lol
Feeling really good right now, albeit really sleepy, and I plan on writing here a lot more frequently especially with my REU coming up soon!
For my own mental notes, here's a list of things I need to finish by the end of next week:
Computer Science multiple choice final exam
Calculus last module and final exam
Philosophy; Nietzsche paper, final paper
Observational Astronomy project/presentation

hi everyone, i know i don’t have a lot of followers but if you could please signal boost because this is SUPER IMPORTANT. if you live in the dmv/dc area and you go to ECHOSTAGE in DC, please be careful. I went with a bunch of friends last night and there was a group of people there all wearing matching light up bunny ears and jewels on their face and pink clothing. One man and approx. 6-7 females. The females were going around to different girls and asking them to come to their room with them. she asked me and my friend if we were together and kept inviting us up multiple times to her “room” with her friends. I’m not a very experienced raver/EDM person but my friend is and she told me that this is a scheme people use for sex trafficking to get girls alone. Luckily we were safe and I didn’t see anything happen personally but I wanted to put this out there so that you are aware if you go to Echostage or other EDM concerts in this area to be very careful. They were especially focused on young girls(18-20) who seemed to be alone or in pairs. I can’t say for sure that this is definitely what it was but just in case i wanted to get the word out. Please reblog if you can, and if you go to Echo have so much fun but BE SAFE and STICK TOGETHER- the only reason the woman left us alone is because my boyfriend stepped in and told her very clearly we were staying with him. They are trying to be under the radar so if you are approached, just say no, get to the other side of the venue, and never let your friends go anywhere alone. Thanks if you read all this, ily all.
