#easter show

Wowee! Tonight was the Royal Easter Show Arts & Crafts exhibition preview.

I am so incredibly stoked that I won 1st place in 4 separate categories; laceweight yarn 18+ wpi, yarn spun using a spindle, crochet shawl garment, and bandweaving. My teddy also won 2nd place in the dressed bear category.

I was amused to see that my black & white shawl (entered in the garment made from handspun category) had been displayed wrong side out. Massively disappointed that my double knit mammoth cowl had been displayed in such a way that it wasn’t viewable in the display case - it was laid out flat behind garments displayed on an upright rack in front of it, to see it at all you had to be specifically looking for it.

Today, Friday March 23, marks the first day of the Sydney institution the Royal Easter Show. The Easter show has been held since 1823 and is organised by the Royal Agricultural Society of New South Wales. Part agricultural show, fair and amusement park, it has been a popular event for many generations of Australians.
