'We are finally on our way to Mystery Creek. And ivy is standing on milk'

'The female lead singer of the worship band is cute. The male one reminds me of Gotye'
'I bought 32 donuts'
'Some other youth stole our seats. This is most inconvenient'
'Ended up stealing spare seats from around the pavilion. We now have too many seats'
'I'm pretty sure a couple of the youth leaders are communicating through bible verses and passages. They're definitely being sneaky.'
'We're looking up cheesy Christian pick up lines'
'One of the youth groups are playing Frozen on a projector screen. Everything is glorious'
'A youth group just carried some poor sod tied to a chair into the pavilion'

First of the Easter Camp stories and these ones are my favorite. So, this weekend has been wet and cold meaning I've been wearing my dark-grey hoodie and back shorts a lot. On Friday, a guy included me in his tally of how many guys there were at the 'Why women shouldn't be silent in Church' seminar. (There were 8, including me) And on Sunday night, I had TWO people refer to me in masculine. During dinner, one of the guys standing by me, probably about 15 years old, said that I'm "a good man" for reluctantly cheering him on in some strange challenge he'd given himself. The other was when I went to the bathroom and I'd even taken off the beanie I was wearing and a girl, about 13-14 years old, said "you know, this is the girl's bathroom". To which I just grinned and said "I know" and ducked into a cubicle. And then just stood and stared at the back of the door for a bit with a stupid grin on my face.
HOW AWESOME IS THAT??!!
Yo, so I just got back from Easter Camp which was a lot of fun. It was a quieter one this year, more of a mediation one which I enjoyed. It was full of contemplation, rain, worship, really good speakers, 32 donuts, unnecessary loud noise, slam poetry and a lot of reflection of how far I've come in the past 3 years. I also saw the many restrictions I have due to attending Holy Trinity- Forest Lake Church. This year's camp wasn't about making huge gestures of faith or bold steps in the journey of a life with God. It was more of quiet sense of contentment, peace and satisfaction.
The message I seemed to get from Easter Camp this year is 'Get out' and 'You are not alone'. So, I know what my next step will be. I'm determined and have complete faith in my God and I feel like I'm starting the next chapter in my story. Or maybe, it's the equivalent of 'The Bell's of St John' I'm starting the second half of my Season 2. I so need sleep
