I got my ears pierced yesterday for my little New York coffee cups!! 🥰 I’ve been wanting these done for so long and I’m so excited to be wearing a little bit of NYC coffee culture. ☺️☕️🗽
I was pierced by the person who has curated my whole left ear with me and they’re so great. We spent the whole time talking about plans for my middle two lobe piercings and different stack options for multiple rings. My vision has two plain rings and one with a stone—preferably labradorite or moonstone, like my others—either in the middle of the stack or on top. But I would also be open to three plain rings if I can’t find the perfect fixed stone ring. I redid my mockups in canva to make better examples of my ideas. 💎
The tissue is really delicate up where I was pierced today, especially on my right side, so healing may take a little longer than a regular lobe piercing. But they said that in two or so months, we can start playing with different stacks! I love my new piercings but the cups are definitely crowded by those gold plugs. I can’t wait to switch to rings so the cups can speak for themselves. And once the swelling goes down, I’m going to try to straighten them a tiny bit. They can’t be fully vertical because of my ear shape, but I should be able to wiggle them a little. But honestly, I don’t really mind the tilt in the “finished” pictures. It’s just *a lot* of jewelry on top of each other with those flared plugs.
So, yay!! I’m so happy. 🤗 My self expression is so important to me. I really lost myself for a handful of years so I’ve spent the last few fighting my way back, and that includes returning to my love for extra bright hair, colorful clothes, fun makeup, and fun jewelry. Especially since our Sbux dress code became so limited (all black with a full hat and hair totally above shoulders so I’m always in a black beanie with low space buns just to have some hair visible, no “theatrical” makeup which is unfortunately so nonspecific that it could be anything super colorful, no earrings bigger than a quarter, etc.), my ear and nose jewelry are my constant expressions of, well, my sparkle. My hair is too, but when it’s up at work, you don’t really get the high impact pink. I just love being colorful and sparkly and seeing my jewelry catch the light and flash blue at the right angle.
It makes me feel like me.
