Ever After High and Descendants dolls on the same shelf
I saw this on Pinterest and I immediately saved it to my "interesting" board because it is quite interesting indeed-- Ever After High dolls and Descendants dolls being sold on the same shelf.
As we can see in the photo, the Descendants dolls have presumably filled all the available space in their designated spot on the middle shelf and have encroached into the EAH dolls' space on the top shelf.
We can also determine, based on the Maleficent and Inside Out dolls on the bottom shelf, that this photo was taken sometime during 2015. The image description on Pinterest reads "getting Disney Descendants Evie doll at Toys R Us".
This, Royals and Rebels, is real-life evidence of the commercial effect that Descendants had on Ever After High. While I do not believe that Descendants copied EAH-- recently resurfaced Disney concept art from 2007 proves that this is impossible-- I also can't deny how the overwhelming success of Descendants contributed to EAH's end.
