Apple trips on the stairs? Darling’s there to catch her. Duchess throws something at Sparrow, misses, and now it’s on a collision course for Apple’s face? Darling catches it just in time (whether or not she used her magical hair-flip powers is undetermined). Terrifying beast from the Dark Forest starts rampaging through the school grounds and Apple’s right in its path? Darling takes it down before Daring finishes putting away his mirror.

And all these encounters end with Darling and Apple having a glorious round of gay panic, except Apple is gay panicking in the way one does when they haven’t yet realized they’re gay. Love that for her honestly. They’re both perfectly refined princesses except when they’re within 5 feet of each other and Apple has no idea why (Darling, conversely, knows exactly why and that makes her freak out even more because that’s Daring’s destined princess).

I see a lot of people are confused on why Cupid is considered a monster and attends Monster High,

So here's a lore post about her origins :D

Cupid is NOT a goddess. She was abandoned and left on Eros' doorstep, and she was adopted by Eros (and he's the greek god of love)

Cupid was given a magical bow and magical arrows that cause people to fall in love with the first person he or she sees when struck by them. Cupid shows no other signs of magic/powers than this. So, by technicality, Cupid would most likely be considered a "demigoddess", not a goddess (and demigoddess essentially isn't a species, just a title)

Okay, so if she's not a goddess, then what is she?

She's a bone elemental!

Cupid doesn't know who her parents are, and didn't know what kind of species she really was for a very long time (she was simply neither human nor Olympian)

After attending Monster High for a while, she eventually asks Ghoulia to help her find out what kind of monster she is, and Ghoulia believes Cupid is a rare bone elemental (just thinks! So no one even really knows). Think of a gargoyle mixed with a skeleton, basically

According to Ghoulia, bone elementals are only ever found in the loneliest parts of the catacombs, and they were created to be nannies for newly hatched dragons, because moms of dragons hibernate after they lay their eggs and don't come out of hibernation until after the eggs hatch

It's not mentioned but I think the reason it's bone elementals → protect baby dragons, is because bones can resist fire. We also see in the web series that Rochelle uses her stone wings to prevent dragon flames from causing damage, and I think Cupid's bone wings could be intended for that same use (this part is simply just my theory and not canon)

This is all that is answered about Cupid's species, her diary stated that Ghoulia is determined to find out why Cupid was abandoned by her parents and given to Eros. This, of course, was never answered, and is still a mystery to this day

A fun tidbid regarding her species is that in Ever After High (since Cupid is an exchange student from Monster High to Ever After High), there's a book called Fairy's Got Talent
