Perhaps it was that you two were innocent or just foolish enough to think that you two could have a happy life together, after all you both loved each other like no other, both have known the struggles of living in a dying planet like Autozam, and yet both were completely sure that, with the love and hard work you two would be able to make it out

Eagle didn't wanted to tell you right away, he would just worry you over something inevitable, he needed to think carefuly about this, or perhaps it was that he just needed time to handle the heartbroken news that not only he will die before you but also that he would leave you alone, that he will not be able to do anything for his home or for the love of his life

He has never been good with sharing, he is a commander, he is more used to carry the weight in his own shoulders, and it was because of that that he has been growing a bit distant from you, he is not ready to tell you about his sickness, about he is going to die, and the fact that he has been remembering what Lantis have tell him about his planet when he visited didn't help at all, after all, the idea of Cephiro depending on a pillar was cruel, but perhaps he could take advantage of that, he may not be able to do anything for Autozam but he may be able to do something for Cephiro

It took a while, a long time of stubborness and selfishness until Eagle was able to talk to you again, only for him to take the most selfish choice and break up with you, he didn't even bothered in explaining enough, just leaving clear that he was going to be in a mission out of Autozam, that waiting for him would be usless and that he wouldn't take you with him under any circumstances

He was being a jerk, an idiot, he have hurt you and he knows it, it hurts him more than anything but he still believes this is the best way, after all, he rather have you hating him for being a jerk than having you spend the rest of your days mouring for him, to stop him from the choise he already took and convince him to stay with you, after all if you ask he doubts he would be able to say no

So, with the same smile of always but the heart broken he was unable to look around the day he was going to left Autozam, almost hoping that, despite everything you would be there, that he would have the chance to see you one last time, but he didn't deserved such privilage and he get it, you two were nothing but strangers now, despite all the time and love you have shared, despite all the promises and smiles now you are nothing but strangers and you would not look back for a stranger
