IT WAS NICE TO BE A CONTINENT AWAY FROM CRIMSON PEAK. landing in america it finally felt like edith could exhale. there seemed to be a lot more hustle and bustle but she found it comforting. comforting that there were spaces she could occupy without drawing too much notice. she had explored new york, boston, and now new orleans. while she had not been enjoying the heat she did love the ambiance. the music and laughter that seemed to trickle out onto the streets.
edith picked at the food on her plate before noticing someone with a book at the bar. the cover looked familiar. a phantom memory of it in her father's study. when she got closer she couldn't help but smile, "how are you liking it so far? i find his poetry so intriguing."
