Mun is back home-- almost.

Things should pick up again around here on this account.

Eli sat on the edge of the bed and sighed as he carded his fingers through his dark hair. Then sun had finally slipped beyond the horizon and night was settling in. The room was silent aside from the soft sleeping sounds of Zero and Minji who were both fast asleep in the bed. A soft smile curled on his lips as he watched the two. Zero was about her size. She loved it.Having a playmate just her size was perfect... Even if the pug did drool on her.  He sighed once more as he twisted his wedding band around his ring finger and concentrated on it. The more he stared at it the more he missed him. He missed the playful teasing, the warm embraces, the kisses that would make his knees go weak- he missed everything. He missed his husband. He had lost track of time since the last time they had really spoken. December maybe? That may have been what the messages on his phone had said. All he knew is that his heart ached for his other half. Nothing was the same without him. Their small home in the castle felt huge. The bed they shared felt vacant, and everywhere was far too silent. One of the hardest things for him was to get up in the morning. There was no singing in the shower to wake him up from his sleep.. just silence. 

Minji made a soft almost cooing noise in her sleep which pulled Eli away from his previous thoughts. His small smile returned as he curled up in bed next to her. It was far too early for him to sleep, but he didn’t mind just laying there with her. He pushed a small piece of hair from her face then pressed a small, gentle kiss to her small head. Softly he began to hum a tune that she seemed to enjoy even in her sleep. Staying nestled between him and Zero, Minji slept peacefully which was the first night in a while. He wasn’t the only one missing him. Minji was too, and it was evident at night when he tried to get her to sleep. She wouldn’t sleep in her crib. The only time she would actually settle down to sleep was if it was with him in bed- that is if she slept. 

As he stayed by her side in bed, a few tears fell down his cheek. Quickly he sniffed and wiped them away. Even with no one there he didn’t want to show just how vulnerable he felt. It didn’t make sense except that maybe he was trying to fool himself into thinking that he didn’t hurt as much as he did. But how could he even pass off the fact that every part of him missed his husband? Even if he kept telling himself every day that things will get better and that he’ll return it didn’t make everything okay. But he couldn’t keep dwelling on that fact. His daughter needed him to be okay- well, to at least act like it. She needed him to stay together.
