shocking news for some people yeah ik lol

i honestly think it’s wild that i gotta say this in 2026, but the idea that a fandom is some exclusive, girls-only treehouse is so SO absurd. and yes, okay, i get it, there are some weird writers who write male readers by dehumanising/overly sexualising women, but that doesn’t mean we ALL do it and i fear that’s common sense🙏🏻🫩

this all started with someone asking for more fem4fem content, which is great! everyone should have their own representation and read what they like to read ykwim. but also i feel like it VERY quickly spiraled into "ugh why would a man be there katseye is only for the girlies…”

complaining abt tmasc!reader fics isn't going to magically spawn more fem4fem fics. it just makes the community smaller, meaner, and more toxic than it already somewhat is.

writing is a labor of love, and most of the time, authors write what they identify with. if a transmasc author writes a tmasc!reader fic, it’s because that is their perspective.

if you don't like masculine identities, scroll past. stop reducing other identities to "ugly males" just because you aren't the target audience. it’s transparent, it’s hateful, and it makes the fandom a hostile place for creators who are just trying to share their art.

as a transmasc writer myself, imma be super honest: this is exactly why i was terrified to start writing on here in the first place. i was so used to wattpad where people SEARCH UP what they wanna read and ignore/scroll past everything they are not interested in reading. once again, that’s literally common sense…

I spent so much time worried i’d be considered "weird" just for existing in this fandom and wanting to create content that resonates with my identity. there’s always been so much femxfem on here that i felt like if i wrote what i wanted to write, i’d only get attacked.

to my fellow transmasc/masc readers and writers: you belong here. don’t let someone’s narrow-minded view of what a "fan" looks like stop you from creating. katseye is for everyone. as i said in an earlier post, there’s no such things as an artist being “for the girls” or “for the guys”, music is for everyone to enjoy!!

but also the concept of writing more tmasc reader to piss yall off….oh the concept……

she was always being belittled by gothel. from not being seen as beautiful, or confident, or strong—hence the part in MKB where she insults rapunzel a hundred times—, and is always seen as a nuisance and a bother “you know how i hate the mumbling” …

and whenever that happens, of course rapunzel does feel insulted and offended, but she soon brushes it off and moves onto the next, like it’s nothing new.

so when it comes to who’s to blame for never leaving the tower, rapunzel initially acts like it’s a choice SHE made. she CHOSE to stay inside the tower out of fear of the outside world and the possibility that people might want to hurt her for her hair. but the reality is, is that she was KIDNAPPED. she is TRAPPED there after being kidnapped by gothel. she did not get a choice in staying there. and, deep down, rapunzel knows that, but she is convinced that her mother “knows best” and can do no wrong. so why would the woman who’s protected her all these years suddenly be wrong? suddenly be the one who’s held her captive all these years?

and that’s common with abuse victims. they believe that what they’re going through, is normal. and it isn’t until they get an outsiders perspective when they realize that it ISN’T normal, but rather WRONG and ABUSIVE.

that scene always breaks my heart for a multitude of reasons. from rapunzel confiding in eugene, to eugene confiding in rapunzel, to them feeling like they can only trust each other with the deepest parts of themselves.

even if their plan had worked out; she saw the lanterns, and he brought her back to the tower, i bet he would find a way to visit her while gothel is gone. keep her company, and make her feel not so alone in this world.

speaking as an abuse surviver, prapai said ALL the right words and i mean ALL!!! he did everything right for sky a trauma victim, used words a trauma victim needs as air and i salute the writing team for this, thank you for showing what could be if we put a little extra effort in writing, this is a very good representation of how to deal with and help trauma victims and survivers, it was a huge deal for me personally to see sky receive such unconditional support and love from his boyfriend, like

when sky calls him after the nightmare he's flirty at first but picks up on sky's distress quicker than lightning, asks him if he's ok now, goes to him at once, when he entered the flat he announce himself twice and keeps looking for sky until sky comes and hugs him, filling sky's space with his voice and his presence, not invading, filling

the aftercare (ok it was only a short scene but so so important for sky) the way he reassures sky that he's the one who should be doing this (cleaning sky up) it was so good to hear that for sky

and after the assault, the way he deals with a shutting down sky the way he shouts "answe me!" the way his voice is breaking and rising at the same time, everything he then said to reassure and calm sky down, de-escalate the situation/sky's panic even when he didn't have all the facts didn't know what exactly went down between sky and gun, and everything he said afterwards it was perfect!! kudos to dialogue writers! and forts acting, all those microexpressions, all those hitches in the breath, the heartbreaking "hmm?" *chef's kiss* 😭😭

also the head rubs or pats, they're so comforting and therewere sooooo many, prapai never lets go of his head for extended periods of time on screeen! like it's so rare to see that much platonic comfort given towards once love interest on screen even after a traumatic experience, especially after traumatic experience, that's huge for me, idk why i felt so strongly about it but it's like that's the shit baby!!! you go girl!! give him all the head pats he deserves ittt!
