Well I took the plunge and dyed Nova! It was my first time doing this and I was so nervous but excited! And here's how she came out! I was aiming for a lighter, less red brown but I'll take what I can get lol. Not bad for my first dye job! The body took the dye beautifully, her older head, not so much but it's nothing some blushing can't take care of later. Oooeeee new yarn!!! Arrived yesterday, so many exciting colors I had to immediately start knitting something (for Minigenue of course!) Oh but Iβd never experienced yarn βhanksβ before, what a pain I quickly realized as I sat trying to knit double stranded color work and ending up with a tangled up mess. Iβm waiting for a yarn winder to arrive but I was impatient, so hand wound a few yarn balls, also something Iβve never done before. Dante was binned yet again. The last time I touched him was over a year ago. I love his character but the doll has always frustrated me. The sculpt was not quite what I expected. Even after some modding and a dye job I still couldnβt connect.
I picked him out of the bin due to boredom and the fact that Rynn and I are having a disagreement about her paint job.
Did a little shell shuffling today, so an abandoned characterβs old body went to Night. Obviously there were differences. So I decided to tackle another dye job. His head cap didnβt take for shit but the actual face is almost perfect. I can touch up the small spots that didnβt take but overall I am happy with how he turned out.
