No doubt Naya had had some reservations about leaving Gundham alone with Ayumi while she went off to dance practice, even if only for an hour or two. In truth, Gundham himself was a bit unsure, but he wanted to do this, to watch the baby himself, almost feeling the need to prove that he could. It had started out a bit rocky, Ayumi having thrown a fit with Gundham unable to identify what had been wrong at first. He had gone down the list; food, diaper change, a toy, and finally simply holding her, it turning into each time he tried to put her down, she would start to cry all over again.
With that problem solved, he decided to take Ayumi along while he checked on the animals in his sanctuary. If she was content being carried about, he may as well tend to a few tasks he usually would around this time. He was more than thrilled to find she liked the animals; a dancing bird making her laugh, her eyes stuck on a turtle while it slowly walked about it's tank, making faces at the fish, he had no idea just how enjoyable a baby might find animals, the sight filling his chest with a warmth very similar to that which said animals would create themselves.
With that task done, he decided he should show her the animals around campus; pointing out frogs, birds, squirrels, anything that crossed their path until deciding to sit and rest for a bit underneath his favorite tree towards the edge of campus.
He had texted Naya to tell her as much so she wouldn't panic when returning to their room to find them gone, the breeder now laying on his back with Ayumi held aloft while he made faces to get her to laugh. Upon hearing footsteps, he had turned mid face, his tongue still stuck out as Naya came into view. He didn't dare move, as if she wouldn't see him being such a dork if he stayed still.
