Duscar Cuisine?
So… where exactly is Duscar? Is it that northern peninsula showing at the northern edge of the Fodlan map, north of Faerghus? I’m trying to reconstruct what Duscar food might be like (or for that matter, Duscar material culture). If Duscar is that northern peninsula, then I think we ca be pretty certain that Duscar is colder than Faerghus. So what would cuisine from Duscar be like?
Specifics to Duscar cuisine don’t really seem to be mentioned in-game. I found some reference to fishing and fish smattered through Dedue’s various supports ([Dedue/Supports | Fire Emblem Wiki | FANDOM powered by Wikia](https://fireemblem.fandom.com/wiki/Dedue/Supports)), but nothing more. Some vague mentions of spices in Ashe and Dedue’s support.
So cuisine from cold climates with fish really just leads me to speculate that Duscar food is either like Finnish food ([Iconic Finnish Foods of All Time — VisitFinland.com](https://www.visitfinland.com/article/iconic-finnish-foods-of-all-time/)), native Alaskan food (https://todaysalaska.com/ultimate-guide-food-in-alaska/), or something else that goes for the fresh fish and berries combo. Both traditional Finnish and Alaskan cuisines don’t seem to go too heavy on carbs like potatoes, and other grain-based things (although southern Finnish food goes for the Rye), so if Duscar cuisine is anything like these, I don’t think they’d go heavy on carbs either? And it would be flavoured maybe with salt and cold climate herbs, so no hot flavours like with chilli or peppers. Scandinavian food is another candidate, but goes too heavy on the wheat-based products and potatoes, which is maybe fore of the Faerghus-type thing. Any other thoughts?
(This rabbit-hole came about because I got stuck thinking about doing a pic featuring kitchens and Dedue, actually.)
