Fun fact about Speech and Debate, the Speech part has an event called Duo Interpretation. In Duo there are some fun rules, the main one being the two people performing cannot look at or touch each other. This has resulted in me (who is doing it this year and did it two years ago) being unable to watch things without fairly frequently having a moment of, "HEY! They're touching! They're not allowed to do that!" This is literally a TV show brain why are you doing this.

look at this duo! he won nationals! this piece is so good i can’t imagine competing against these motherfuckers! nobody knows what i’m talking about but you guys i’m an interper and i spontaneously combust when i find out anybody else is an interper! speech never gets mentioned in media! fuck! you guys!

what she means: Okay, but Duos are so under-appreciated. They are the most beautiful of all the interp categories, creating a whole story while being synchronized blocking, page turns, dancing and any other movements. Especially duos with multiple characters; being able to quickly switch your character and how you interact with your partner is incredibly beautiful. Duos can also range from a funny short scene with two characters to a program with difficult relationships in every piece and crazy tech and bookwork. Duos are honestly just a work of art and it's treated as equal to all the other interp categories.
