Is Klout still useful?

Klout is still in my view a useful indicator of the influence someone has on social media.

How does Klout work?

Its algorythm gages the engagement people have with your social media content.

Then it gives you a score from 0-100.

Is the Klout score reliable to hire someone?

Sometimes, some agencies will simply not hire someone with a mediocre Klout score.

Like anything online, it takes more than just one marker to determine the value of someone’s work.

Klout scores value needs to be verified by visiting the linked socia media accounts, to assess content quality.

How to boost your Klout score

Sometimes, people don’t add their social media profiles to their Klout account. This can lead to a lower Klout ranking.

That is one of the reasons why my Klout score had dropped to 41…until two weeks ago.

Only my Twitter account was connected to my Klout and I had been involved in so many projects that I rarely Tweeted since last Fall.

So two weeks ago, I connected almost all of my social media accounts to my Klout and resumed creating more social media content.

The result is, that my Klout went from 41 to 59 in two weeks.

Conclusion

Being a Digital Marketer, I feel better with today’s score and I can’t wait to turn 60!

"Counters for the #MobileWeb Twitter users"

The mobile Twitter UX just changed for those of us who access Twitter using our iOS devices. We now have counters beside the Retweets and the Favorites of each Tweet.

It makes a difference being able to see how many people Retweeted of Favorated a particular Tweet.

This is a time-saver to immediately be able to gauge the popularity of a Tweet without having to go to the second screen like before. 

I posted a snapshot of my Twitter mobile profile and one snapshot of a profile that has millions of followers.

How head spinning it must feel to have one of your Tweet Retweeted 15.4 K times!! At the same time one must feel happy to have such a powerful reach, just one Tweet from them can change the life of someone.

#mobile gadget: What do you think about the iBag?

Was reading about the iBag today. It’s in fact a smartpurse equiped with LED lights, GPS, locking mechanism and auto SMS capacity that aims at preventing mindless usage of credit cards.

The programmable iBag flashes lights when it detects you’re approaching a forbidden store, locks the purse up and sends SMS to people of your choosing to alert them that you’re about to spend money on something.

I don’t know about you, but I would just cut the cards up.

New throw in the air Panono Mobile Camera

This is a new camera that captures 360 degrees of your surroundings when you throw it in the air.

It not only captures everything in panoramic size photos around you but, it is built to work via the cloud with your iOS or Android mobile devices.

To conclude, I think this is a great idea for a camera but I would be careful where I throw it not to damage or loose it!

For example, I would not throw it in the air while rafting in the Lachine canal nor would I use it near the Montréal F1 Grand Prix race track!

I would also attach a @TileApp or @Chipolo to it in order to be able to track it down should I loose it in the woods somewhere.

"Vivre icitte" 100% pur cacao 2014

Yesterday I had a delightful evening laughing, dancing and singing.

I also met wonderful people, namely @EmmanuelDubourg, @AnGeloCadet et @Potoprincipe.

@DorothyRhau is an outstanding comedian who shared the stage with a select group of artists.

The event took place at l’Astral on Ste-Catherine Street in downtown Montréal in the heart of the Quartier des Spectacles.

Wishing for a Press ID

Throughout the evening, I videotaped some of the sketches but I so wish I had been a member of the Press so I could use a professional camera with a ZOOM!

Conclusion

In my opinion, Dorothy Rhau is a 5-star stand-up comedian. I wish everyone could enjoy her show and laugh so much that their tummy hurts and their eyes cry…that’s what happened to me last night = pure joy!

The best comedy show of 2014 is “Vivre icitte” de Dorothy Rhau.

Thank you!

Today is the last post in the #blogfor30 challenge initiated by my creative @Hubspot friends.

I’m grateful to them for giving me an opportunity to get blogging for 30 days in a row.

My personal goals were to blog only using an iPhone5S and to verify if it was possible to grow my Twitter followers by the simple act of daily blogging.

#blogfor30 made me discover Aviary

The photor editor I was using with my iPhone4S did not work so well on the 5S. Since I needed a new mobile photo editor, this challenge made me discover Aviary, which is a wonderful free application that is perfect when creating articles with a smartphone.

Success!

Not only did I complete the 30 day blogging challenge but in the process, my Twitter profile gained 55 new followers from my participation in the #blogfor30.

Videos and Images do increase trafic

I will continue using @Vine or @Instagram for short videos to cream up my content without taking the readers attention away from the articles.

Of course, I will also include photos in articles as it is proven to grasp more interests which results in more leads in the end.

Conclusion

This challenge was a great way to start 2014.

I now find myself hooked to the daily blogging routine. @MattCutts was right about the benefits of doing something new for 30 days! It upgrades you!
