I posted this on my sideblog, but Mr. Dawson's #1 disciplinary method is the "I'm not mad, just disappointed" speech. Works like a charm every time.
as a prospective teacher, i can assure you that it works on kids every single time and i use this method every time in order to trick them into behaving in classroom
MR. DAWSON IS A RETIRED TEACHER AND YOU CANNOT CONVINCE ME OTHERWISE
All we did is survive
That’s enough.
Idk which I like more but I’m proud of these!!
And it’s my man 😍🥰
Train of thought (Alex x f!reader)
Requested by: @medicineclouds
Request: Alex (Dunkirk) Fluff/Angst Imagine about when you are at the train waiting for him and you remember all of the times before he enlisted? And she’s like lost in her thoughts and he sneaks up behind her.
Warnings: small talk of war
A/n: So I am writing imagine in random orders so yea
You where at the train station, waiting for any or all trains to arrive. After the call went out for Dunkirk you knew you wanted to go there to see if he would be among the arrivals. You desperately hoped he would be. It would be a lie to believe there wasn’t a chance he wouldn’t be. He was a good man and strong, but you knew lots of women and mothers who knew their sons or husbands or boyfriends to those of you who hadn’t had a chance to marry, won’t returning and you prayed you would be lucky, that yours would return to you.
You waited nervously, pacing back and forth in front of the benches. You didn’t know when any of the trains would arrive or how full or empty they would be. Your hand were shaking and sweaty as the nerves took over.
~
The two of you had met at a nightclub. You and your friends had decided for a night out and so you went to the best nightclub in town. That’s were you met when he came up and asked you to dance and you happily excepted. He was nice and had a smile that never seemed to disappear.
After that the two of you started going out more and more. He loved to plan surprise dates, usually at some of his favorite spots in town. He liked showing you every little spot he could find that was pretty and undisturbed by the rest of the town.
You enjoyed most the days out in the country on a picnic, where he would talk of traveling, wanting to take you everywhere and see everything. He had so many hopes and dreams. He was a very optimistic person and could bring you joy even on the most cloudy of days.
He also loved going bowling, it was something the two of you often did with your friends. The two of you had many good nights at the bowling alley. If you won’t on the same team the two of you would get really competitive which sometimes was a fun thing to watch. He would get to cocky and end up falling on the bowling lane, you would laugh and run over to him helping him up giving him a kiss on the cheek.
Two years of dating the war started. He signed up immediately, it wasn’t that he wanted to fight but he knew he needed too. The day he told you he had signed up you cried. You wanted to beg him to change his mind, but you knew him well enough, you knew he felt like he had to go.
Before you knew it he had left and the only thing you had was the memories, the few letters you got, and the hope he would come back.
You listened to the radio anytime you could, hoping wherever he was that he was safe.
~
Now here you were waiting for a train that would either bring good news or bad news. How badly you wished to know.
Soon enough you heard the train pulling into the station. Everyone erupted in cheers at the sight of the soldiers in the train, but you couldn’t cheer, not yet.
As the doors opened soldiers flooded out and you were lost in a sea of bodies. Most moved so fast you hadn’t had time to see their faces.
You started to feel worried looking around at all the faces. If he was here he was going to be harder to spot and if he wasn’t you wouldn’t know until everyone left.
You honestly didn’t know which way to look. There were eight train cars and each seemed to triple the amount of soldiers in them than normal.
Through all your worry you didn’t see Alex, but he saw you. A smile formed on his face at the sight of you, how he had missed you.
He hurried through the soldiers making is way to you, still unseen, he thought of what he should say to you.
Finally he reached you, smiling at the smell of your perfume, he had got you before he had left but you had insisted you didn’t like the smell of it.
“I new you would like that perfume.” He spoke smiling as he saw you jump at his voice.
You turned to see him a smile forming on your face at the sight of him. You wrapped him in a hug which he happily returned and kissed your forehead. He was covered in oil, but at the moment you didn’t care, he was home.
----
So it’s not really angst but I still hope you like it :)

Flight instructor (Collins x reader)
Requested by: anon
Request: Collins imagine where the female reader is quite interested in Flighing and an airplanes. But it can also be anything you like
Warnings: none
You had be come quite interested in planes during the mist of the war. Sure the first time you saw one was when you were younger but it wasn’t till the war when it would become your interest to learn enough about them and even want to fly. You had read in the paper about all these women who had many accomplishments with flying which encouraged you more.
Your parents however felt differently about you wanting to fly. Your mother thought it to dangerous and your father well anytime you brought it up he would say, “the more ambition you show for flying the less likely you’ll get a husband.” He rather you stay at home all your life then to break social norm like those women you had read about.
After the war ended however, you took your interest to the next level by trying to find a school just for aviation. You wanted to do research on planes and hope to find a school so you would be familiar with things before attending, so you went to the library.
You were in the mist of your reading, only focused on your book which caught Collins eye as he walked around the library.
He walked up to you, but you hadn’t really noticed, “School or interest?” He asked causing you to jump slightly causing a quick apology from him.
“Interest.” You answered looking up at him. “Although I’m going to a flight school soon.” You mention with a big smile on your face.
“You’ll love it.” He replied smiling slightly, “May I?” He asked pointing to the empty seat across from you. You nodded now interested in the blonde in front of you.
You placed the book you were reading face down not to lose your place and propping you head in your hand interested. “So Blondie, I’m guessing you’ve flew a plane before?” You asked confidently.
“I have, yes though I don’t plan to anytime soon.” He answered nodding his head as he did. “I’m Collins by the way.” He added feeling a little embarrassed for not introducing himself right away.
“(Y/n).” You introduced yourself. “I guess then you flew in the war?” You asked and he nodded in response. “I imagine it would take time to want to be back in a plane then.” You spoke, your voice sounding elegant but still had a hit of seriousness in it.
“Yes, but i doesn’t mean I’ll give it up, I love flying to much too.” He smiled at the last part.
“My parents don’t want me to, they say ‘an ambitious girl scares off to many men,’ definitely since it’s an unusual interest.” You replied with a small chuckle.
“I think it’s great that you’re determined to fly.” He said, a blush coming over his cheeks. “You never know you could become part of history, like...” he paused to look through your book on ‘women of flight book’ “Marry Bailey, who was the first woman to fly solo from England to South Africa.” He stated.
“I like the sound of that, but I still have to find a school that would except me.” You sighed Sadly looking at the books in front of you.
“I could be your instructor.” He proposed looking at you. “That’s is if you wanted.” He noted remembering you both just met.
“Really?” You questioned louder than you want causing some ‘shhhing’ from the people around you, but that didn’t stop a smile from forming on your face. “You would teach me? Why?” You asked lowing your voice.
“Well I am pilot, a pretty good one.” He bragged and you playfully rolled your eyes. “Plus a school can’t be cheap or close by and I have access to a plane.” He pointed out.
“You make some excellent points Blondie,” you paused thinking of his offer. “but what’s the cost?” You questioned looking at him curiously.
“A date, say maybe Friday?” He smiled confidently.
He was smart, smooth and cute, you liked that. “You got yourself a deal, Collins.” You replied putting your hand out to shake.
“We start lessons tomorrow bright eyed and early.” He said shaking your hand closing the deal.
“Can’t wait!” You exclaimed smiling.

Another imagine down!! Honestly I’m working on them (3 at a time)

But please enjoy
Knight in shining armor (Peter x reader)
Requested: yes and no
Request: Peter x reader imagine
Warnings: none
A/n: my friend has been asking for an imagine with peter
The day the call went out for boats to sail to Dunkirk you were ready, your family on the other hand were not. They were wait on news from your brother who in lucky terms was not at Dunkirk. Your family had a boat and you ignored your parents determination to sit at home and hear from your brother when soldiers, other parents children, where waiting for safety.
You knew how to sail thanks to your father and brother so that night you snuck out of the house to the nearby docks where the family boat, The Starlight, was and prepared to set sail.
You knew it would take a week to get to Dunkirk and you were ready. Except that four days later a storm came out of nowhere, it damaged part of the boat, nothing to bad so it seemed and the storm passed. However not long after you realized something was wrong with the propeller and so you were at a standstill. It was hours later when another boat came close to yours.
“Everything alright?” Am older man, obviously the captain of the ship asked.
“The propeller has messed up and I’m sure there’s a whole on the side caused from the storm.” You replied looking between the man and the other two on board.
“Is it just you?” The blonde boy about your age asked causing the older man, from your guess his dad, to look back at you.
“Yes, just me.” You answered hoping they could help in some way.
“We are on the way to Dunkirk, pulling your boat would decrease the speed.” The man responded. “You can join us and if it’s still here after we’ll take it back in with us.” He added.
“That would be great thank you.” You replied as the boy your age helped you across.
“I’m Peter Dawson, and that is my father.” He introduced the two of them, but not the soldier who was curled up in the corner.
“I’m (y/n) (y/l/n).” You said introducing yourself and Mr Dawson started away from your boat. “My father won’t be happy that the Starlight May not return home.” You said mostly to yourself but Peter still Heard you.
You and Peter talked back and forth, helping Mr Dawson when need. The two of you had a lot in common and you had to admit he was cute.
“I can’t believe we live two blocks apart and never met before now.” Peter said in disbelief.
“Fate is a funny thing, we could have met before on the sidewalk or a shop but instead you save me from being stranded at sea.” You replied.
When you reached Dunkirk the mood changed as you helped a pilot out of his plane just in time and then help what seemed like an endless line of soldiers out of the water. They were covered in oil and you could tell that it bothered Mr Dawson.
“Go! Go! Go!” The pilot yelled as the plane above started towards the water.
Mr Dawson started the boat and left the oil covered water and Peter pulled in the last soldier he had been holding on too. With a boat full of people Mr Dawson sailed for home.
When you reached the spot where they had found you, your boat was gone. It had obviously been hit by a plane above.
“Guess you’re father is going to be upset now.” Peter said following your gaze to the only part of the boat seen.
“Yea, well I was already going to be in so much trouble what’s a little more?” You asked more of a retorical question.
Mr Dawson continued on back to England.
It was night when he docked the boat, all the soldiers got off heading for the train. When the pilot, Collins, as you had learned his name was had stepped off the boat some soldiers who had been brought in by others yelled angrily “where the hell were you!?” Collins face dropped but Mr Dawson placed a hand on his shoulder before saying “they know where you were.” Talking about all the soldiers coming off the Moonstone. He thanked him and left for the train too.
“Lets get you home (y/n).” Mr Dawson said turning to you. You nodded and the three of you headed home.
The three of you reached your house, you were honestly happy to be back but also scared to walk in.
“Thank you, again Mr Dawson for taking me on board.” You spoke once more thanking him.
“Not a problem (y/n). Have a good night.” He replied before starting to continue on home and you turned to Peter.
“So I’ll see you around?” You asked him hopefully.
“Yea, I mean yes say maybe Friday? I could come by and take you to dinner?” He asked rather nervously.
“I’d like that.” You replied smiling, soon dropping it when you heard the door behind you open and your father cleared his throat. “That is if I’m not grounded.” You added your face showing how worried you were.
“I’ll still come by and check since you’re not that far from me.” He stated causing a smile on your face.
“Until then,” You started before kissing him on the cheek causing both of you to blush, “goodnight peter.”
“Goodnight (y/n).” He replied before nodding to your father and left to catch-up with his own.
You turned and walked up the stairs following your father inside the house. Your mother stood when she saw you enter and ran to hug you.
“Thank goodness you’re okay.” She said smiling.
“What were you thinking!” You’re father yelled not so much angry but concerned.
“That I had to help those soldiers come home.” You replied standing your ground.
“And did you?” Your father asked.
“I did, however I should mention that the Starlight was damaged and Mr Dawson and his son stopped and took me aboard his boat. When we came back through to bring her in she had been hit.” You spoke watching your father’s face change in emotion.
“You leave without our permission, steal the boat, leave the it at sea, leaving it to be destroyed and sink.” Your father listed, “You are grounded, but I’m sure you already knew that. You can help pay for a new boat.”
You sighed at his words, you knew that meant most of your already small paycheck was going to a new boat.
Luckily Friday finally came around and that night just as promised, Peter showed up at your door. Your father answered, scaring peter but still he asked to take you out for dinner. Your mother said yes before your father could reply.
“Thank goodness I was starting to worry about you.” You joked as the two of you left.
“You Thank I’d forget about our date?” He asked jokingly.
“Oh no definitely not, but I did worry about you and my dad facing off about letting me out for our date.” You chuckled.
“Even if he didn’t let you out I would have found away to save you, again.” He replied smiling at you.
“Yes always my knight in shining armor.” You smiled back.
