The sound of a blades scraping together continued echoing through the crypt. Sir Vant gathered himself within the crawlspace,
while Altanah heard something moving from the west side of the crypt. She cast Enlarge on Her axe, proceeding down the corridor, while Harbord the Rat peered into the darkness from atop Her head. At the other end of the hall, a corpse floated through the air, its right
arm cut to ribbons and its left arm clutching the ruined mess that was its head, only a single eye still visible amongst
the bloom of flesh and bone. Altanah blasted it with a magic missile, while Hroa attempted to cast Holy Sanctuary; however,
Dazna intervened with his connection to Maenang, cutting him off from her divinity.
Sir Vant stumbled out of the crawlspace and readied himself
for whatever was approaching from the West. Hroa allowed Dazna to consume his vitality in exchange for the return of His holy abilities. He then cast a Blessing on Altanah's axe, which having already been blessed by Maenang, began to glow a brilliant magenta.
She swung her twice-blessed-axe into the corpse, chopping off its leg. She then tried to struggle out of the channel, and the floating corpse
attempted to puke a pile of writhing maggots onto Her. A skeleton armed with a shortbow revealed itself from the dark, and fired an arrow at Hroa. Another floating corpse revealed itself from the East, its head twisted 180 degrees on its shoulders. Sir Vant hacked off the lower half of the body, which sloughed into the channel, but the body continued to press onto him, overwhelming him, and grabbing at his throat. The other floating corpse flew at Hroa, spilling more maggots from its open neck, but He managed to side-step it. Altanah dispatched this floating corpse with Her axe, striking it in the back and causing it to fall apart.
During all of this, Bradnay was cowering behind one of the walls. The skeleton tried to fire its bow, but the bow broke, and it fled down a corridor which the pilgrims have yet to explore. Altanah proceeded down this corridor, finding a coffin amidst the muck, which She shot open with magic missile; moldering remains spilt out, along with a leather bundle, which held a Silver Arborean Dagger.
With this, the pilgrims chose to flee the crypt. Bradnay nearly dashed into the death hole, but He was quickly convinced by the rest of the group to leave with them; the party left Koreto crypt as the sound of clacking bones and clattering stones began to intensify. Back out in the estate, the shouting of a man and the laughing of a woman could be heard echoing from around front. The pilgrims travelled back to the cart as a thunderstorm raged overhead, getting soaked to the
bone. Bradnay drove the cart back south to Moromos, and after seven hours of gruelling travel on the road, the pilgrims returned to the city. Bradnay delivered them to the hovel, telling them Where He could be found again, and insisting that they not mention any of this to Pavia. Pavia was relaxing in the common room, and she aided in reattaching Sir-Vants' fingers, but grew frustrated when Vant would not reveal how He lost them. The party then dedicated themselves to four days of rest, during which Altanah went out and purchased three healing elixirs for a gold coin each.
During this time, Sir Vant asked Pavia how He might better heal his hand, and She told him that they may have ways of healing Him better on the Isle of Garo. With this, the group had a discussion, and determined that They would be travelling to this mysterious southern isle . . .
