A small antelope found in Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, southern Cameroon, and northern Republic of the Congo. They typically weigh about 40 lb (18 kg), and are about 20 in (50 cm) at the shoulder.

Chocholatka modrá, drobná antilopa, kterou v rámci Česka chovají akorát v Jihlavě, kde vlastně nikoho zas až tak nezajímá. Jsou totiž relativně plaché a nenápadné, jejich výběh poněkud zastrčený.
Já jsem chocholatky poprvé viděla letos na konci ledna, jelikož jsem od chvíle, kdy je přivezli, v této zoo nebyla. Přestože v předchozích letech jsem v jihlavské zoologické zahradě byla pečená vařená a chodila tam každou chvíli. No a s tím vyvstává jedna otázka - jak je možné, že jsem je viděla obě dvě, ještě ke všemu poměrně dobře, navíc tedy na první dobrou? Lidi, kteří se o ně totiž byť jen trochu zajímají, si na internetech opakovaně stěžují, že "z nich neviděly ani chlup". Opět se nabízí možnost, že návštěvy zoologickejch vyžadují určitý skill. A to se nechci vychloubat, ale jinak si vysvětlit nesvedu.

We made it to Z! D... did anyone notice? 🥺 Anyway, (un)surprisingly I didn't find a lack of species for any letter, including X. (Not when you have the xeric tree frog, the xenops, the xerus, the xucaneb robber frog, the xinjiang ground-jay...)
Duikers are awesome little things. This one's expression seemed a little... wary.
With that, I'm going to take a break for a few days, possibly to the end of the month. I need to be recovering my health and making sure some stupid bills get paid.
