In 1960 Pininfarina was asked by Alfa Romeo to design a spider based on the Sprint Speciale.
They developed a prototype in 1961, of which ultimately went into production.
60 years ago (10 March, 1966) the Alfa Romeo 1600 Spider aka “Duetto” was officially presented at the Geneva Motorshow. And the rest is history…
