ok aside from that though, i feel like datemaji though is a lil different.. on one hand i did just wanna smush my favs together, on another hand it ALSO out of spite of not liking kiryu/majima, and on ANOTHER hand the more i think about it, its awesome.. i don't know..

you know those things you get into as a joke and it stops being a joke?? it's kinda like that, in a way? i started getting serious the more i thought about it, i feel like majima and date are.. they're sweet to me, date is one of those guys who can get a guy out of an emotional slump just because he's a down to earth guy, he doesn't put out these overly positive expectations, but they're not overly negative either.

majima who is.. very blunt in both aspects, would probably be mellowed out by how equal date is with both of them. also i think majimako is neat and all but if majima keeps dwelling on what happened, or even THINKING about it at his big age it's not gonna get him anywhere so i like the idea of him finding a different person to associate the name 'makoto' with, and who better than date!! date is sweet, just like makoto, just different! and i feel like with the more time passed, majima would be more comfortable with thinking about makoto as some kind of.. past situation, what could've been, but not what is. he'd stop being so hurt every time he thought about her, wouldn't feel bad when or if he saw her, wouldn't dwell on the past and would instead be happy knowing she's got a loving family. and instead, he'd start thinking of date as, like.. his guy!! that's his guy! all of his positive emotions and shit just reside within date and it's awesome!

with datekiryu (or kazudate as i call them) they have more married couple vibes to me but with datemaji, i feel like they'd do pretty much almost everything married couples WOULD do while just.. not being married, just in a relationship and being in sort of a middleground where they COULD get married at any time, but they're just. not. date would probably be hesitant with getting married since his other marriages failed and majima would probably be hesitant because.. well. his last marriage failed too (FOR OBVIOUS REASONS..), and he seems to still be stuck on the whole makoto situation, so they'd just be comfortable where they are.

the reason why i see kazudate as a married couple and not majidate is mostly because kiryu and date have been together for so long canonically and date has been there for kiryu for so long that. i feel like it'd be ridiculous if they weren't married, they might as well be, especially with that entire THING that happened in infinite wealth, it's like. wow. no one cares about kiryu more than date does and its constantly overlooked they're so freaking married

but i feel like majima and date wouldn't know each other for as long i guess, and if majima is in trouble he'd feel bad asking date for help because he wouldn't want him to get involved, so he'd keep date in the dark about it if anything, the guy wouldn't even know anything WAS wrong

and, referring back to the initial poem, i feel like date would make majima feel very calm..? date's awesome don't get me wrong he has his little moments with his iconic airplanes and snipers (infinite wealth...) and whatnot, but with majima, he would feel like date sees him for him and not whatever persona he's putting on, like he can see through him and he'd feel very comfortable putting his walls down with him

oh plus they'd love getting drinks together and stuff.. that'd be awesome.. we don't get to see drunk majima enough (at all) and that's gotta change.. they'd be awesome drinking buddies they'd have sooo much fun talking about stupid stuff and i want them to be happy and joyous.. i'll be honest!! i don't like datemaji as much as i like kazudate!! because i liked kazudate first and im deadly attached to it and i'm still trying to figure out what i really like about datemaji, it's a nothing sandwich in the best way possible because you can fill it with whatever feels right to you and that's the kind of ship i love but i gotta spend time thinking about it more
