Last run of the year before the bike gets taken off the road for hibernation. If the roads are dry and there is no salt down I will always try to have one last run on the road.

Ducati 749r, 3rd April 2023.
Sun was out today so I wheeled the R out of the garage and gave it a quick once over. Panels off to check for leaks before starting. I didn’t use it at all last year so going to make the effort to ride a few miles on the road this year. MOT soon then tax and insurance. Had a little ECU niggle for a while causing a fan issue. Got a fresh ECU ready to be flashed with the DP map so that’ll be going in at some point.Â

Dry this evening so a run out for the sake of it for the first time in a long time. Still a little chilly but Herefordshire is a lovely part of the world to be.Â

Not been outside for the last six months but here it is ready for the UK roadworthy test (MOT) on Friday. Pleased to say it passed and was ridden today for 50 miles to bed the new packing in the exhaust in and fire some fresh fuel through the cylinders. I love this bike!

Yesterday I collected this. Found on eBay on Thursday and knew I had to buy it.Â
A brand new in the box stainless steel Termignoni exhaust system for the 749. It contains all the fasteners, pre-programmed ECU, air filters, link pipe and end can/muffler. Dated 16/02/04 from Bologna. The seller has had it in his workshop for over 15 years. Today I will fit it to the bike where it belongs.Â

New OEM parts still available for this bike. Laguna Motorcycles in Maidstone, UK have sponsored the team I ride with from the outset. For four seasons I was on one of their 899/959 machines (pictured here the first year on the 899) so a no brainer to spend a bit of cash with them. This lot consisted of some new fasteners, o-rings for clutch rod and slave, oil and air filters. Things that have grown tired over the years and needed replacing. Even replaced the battered old front sprocket washer.Â
