Three guesses for why I've been posting so little for the past week!

Dublin 2019 An Irish Worldcon was amazing, inclusive, inspiring and oh so many queues. (In which I didn't have time to check Tumblr because I'd always start chatting to someone.) Just seeing the rich variety of geekdom was !!! I have a reading list a mile long. @seananmcguire is exactly as entertaining as on Tumblr (and yes, tarantulas are exactly hamsters with extra legs).

We all just won 1/gazzillionth of a Hugo :)

...exhausted but very content. We met people we haven’t seen for a decade and a half and often more (and unfortunately missed others who we knew were there but never saw), talked too much, surprisingly didn’t drink too much, and didn’t eat or sleep enough. 

@dduane has removed her GoH badge and is already curled up in Our Own Bed, because we’re into Dublin again tomorrow for a couple more meetings of longer duration than an across-the-void wave between Up and Down escalators, then home again to have a demure collapse for the rest of the week and finally get back to business.

The business will include a Caturday, after the first (or furst) time in years I missed posting one.

Well done, Con Chair James and the Con Committee! Let’s bid  to have another one!

As you may or may not know, AO3 got a nomination for Hugo Award in the category “Best Related Work”.

The winner will be announced during this years WorldCon in Dublin (15th-19th August) 

As their site says, “The final ballot will be announced in early April. Only Dublin 2019 members will be able to vote on the final ballot, using a preferential system, and choose the winners.”

But! Even if you can’t attend Dublin 2019, you still can help AO3 win if you so desire. There is a option of “Supporting Membership” (€40, approx. £35 or $45), which allows you to vote in the Hugo Awards. 

Here's something I contributed to at Worldcon - the Raksura Colony Tree Project, an ephemeral piece of yarn performance art for Martha Wells' Books of Raksura. So much fun playing with yarn, meeting people, did I mention this thing was gigantic? I rediscovered the joy of freehand crochet without a pattern. That little white creature? Crochet thread freehand!
