Driver’s High - L’Arc~en~Ciel

A story that follows a broken 5-year relationship between a superstar race car driver in the height of his career and his trusted team mechanic. It's a brutally realistic story of a couple in a long-term relationship and the issues that come with that. The characters, their personalities and their backstories, were really well-developed and so you feel very invested in them. The conflict felt very real and relatable, which made the resolution all the more rewarding. The resolution itself also felt really authentic (I mean how often do we see therapy being mentioned in manhwas). Some people didn't like how certain characters acted in the story but their actions were always consistent with their personalities and I thought it was a realistic depiction of how real-life people could act in those situations - so I actually liked that the characters were flawed. All of this, in the setting of exciting car racing and really good art, makes for a great manhwa.
