Can I just say that I absolutely hate This is Not a Drill and the fact that the moral or WANTS to teach isn’t fit for Drill Man and his dad.
Like the stupid ending where they’re stuck together and Mega Man and Dr Light are just like “yeah let’s leave them like this. That’s a good idea.” Honestly it’s such a hard watch cause DRILL MAN IS LITERALLY LEFT IN TEARS HOW IS THAT A SATISFYING ENDING???
Honestly the moral they wound up teaching can be pretty harmful for kids. Especially if they just so happen to be the children of verbally (or even physically) abusive parents like Drill Man’s. “Hey kids you’ve gotta get along with your parents no matter how terrible they are or what they’ve done to you and if you can’t then you’re a bad person sorry”
I get that the moral they wanted to teach was like family matters and blood is thicker than water but like DRILL MAN SENIOR TOOK HIS SONS HANDS AND DESTROYED HIS DREAMS (plus my friend pointed out that Drills situation feels like it could be a metaphor for queer children of homophobic parents and that makes it even more sickening)
Even if you take away Drills backstory his dad is still very verbally abusive to him.
Honestly if they wanted to teach this kind of moral they could’ve done something with Air Man’s siblings or something. They were just implied to be a little bit mean to Air Man. ALL siblings are mean to eachother.
