There was a first time for everything, and in that moment Drew was experiencing one of his. One thing he always tended to pride himself on was being extremely careful when it came to the criminal lifestyle he lived. He was one of the most prolific dealers in the entire city, and hadn’t once been caught onto by the cops. Not until that evening, at least. It was his fault, really. He was trying to be nice by dealing with one of the tweakers loitering the park, which almost made it less surprising to find there was an undercover officer less then a hundred feet away from them. And then he was off. He knew the cop saw what had happened and wasn’t going to stop to ask questions until he was detained, which was not happening. He wasn’t as quick as he used to be, the smoking habit he picked up a few years back starting to finally catch up to him, but he managed to keep a safe distance between the two (or three— Drew never saw the other officer appear, one moment he wasn’t there and then he was the next).
He managed to lead them into the maze of alleyways. These were the same alleys he constantly dealt in, he knew the ins and outs of them almost like he knew the layout to his home. He was looking for a specific window; there was an abandoned apartment down that way that one of his clients used to frequent, when all of a sudden he CRASHED into something else. After stumbling back a bit, he looked down to realize the something was actually a someone. He almost got ready to take off in another For a moment, he thought it may have been another undercover and almost got ready to start swinging. But thankfully, it didn’t take him long to see that the other was in a predicament similar to his. He paused for a moment, taken out of his train of thought by the yells of officers not too far away. He gave the male an understanding look before his gaze returned to the windows around them. And there it was!
“C’mon!” Quickly, he went over to the window and opened it the best he could. Without a thought of hesitation, he was able to cram all six feet and two inches of him through the opening in seconds. Then he tapped lightly on the sill, signaling for the other to join him.
