Various BTS photos from when the movie was still going, this one is from Katie Shiney Young (Melissa Cobb's assistant), and the only people I recognize are Bonnie Stewart, and.. Jeff Hermann?

One photo of Alessandro Carloni working on script pages at the Palihouse hotel, and the infamous image from a story meeting, with the chalk board that gave us some clues of the story.

Heidi Jo Gilbert (Story artist) on her desk, and I believe in the background there's an Heidi drawing (I presume by Joe Moshier?) and Dan expressions we don't have.

Interior desing and various props of Heidi's department, from an anonymous source. She was the potential love interest of Daniel, or at least that was what Dan thought.

Heidi is just going to stay in the same apartment complex as Daniel's. She's a photo journalist and came to town for the Light parade, she's confident, outgoing, adventurous and is always in the habit of taking pictures of odd things. Let's say she was a "manic pixie dream girl", like she was only there to motivate Daniel.

This was Mac, He ran Shadow World. He didn't have a caster though — long story short, he broke the "they lead, we follow!" rule and made contact with his caster (who I presume had a candy shop or something). The caster freaked out and shut out all the light from his apartment as to never see his own shadow ever again. Mac, growing bitter that he had been shut out of the caster world, decides if he can't have a caster, then no one can. Nothing is known about what happened in the climax, other than the Shadow rebellion would have took place in the town's Daylight parade (taking place at night). And that the caster lived in a shut apartment with no lightsource. Daniel and Dan would figure this out and open the blinds to force a confrontation between Mac and his caster.

It's unknown who was Mac's VA, it's believed that it would have been Tom Hiddleston, since there were rumors that he was going to have the role, but all of that began coming out a year after the movie was halted and put on hold indefinitely. I think Stephen Kearin would have voiced Mac, and here’s why: He is seen in this photo taken on November 6, 2012, the day Josh Gad finished recording all his lines as Daniel.

Mac being underdeveloped and possibly not villainous enough was one of the big notes from the studio. And he would have been a twist villain! But they felt he was too weak..

Mac is believed to be that mysterious Evil Shadow in the trench coat that appears in some of the available footage (from Act 2). This character evokes the mysterious shadowy figures of the film noir genre, and has the ability to kidnap shadows and take their places, harming their casters in the process, and then purging them to the darkness.
