For many, Valentine’s Day is of the few days you do anything special for your loved one. With family, work, kids, we many times lose sight of keeping the fire of love always burning. With a society that pushes the aspect of making yourself happy and looking for your own happiness, we forget what true love really means. It’s the love Christ showed and gave us which is laying your life for others. It’s the same love people like Archbishop Oscar Romero, Martin Luther King Jr. and St Valentine who was executed giving his life for the church and its people. It’s giving, not receiving. My challenges for everyone are the following; Don’t make valentines one day of the year, make it everyday. Getting gifts or going out to dinner on Valentine’s is great but it shouldn’t be reserved for Valentine’s. Do it whenever because that person deserves it. Saying I love you isn’t reserved for one day, it’s an everyday thing. The details in your relationship depend on you, not the other person. Next: Make your loved one your priority. Keep in mind, you will spend the rest of your life with your spouse. Your children will grow and most likely find someone else to be happy with. Love your children but put your spouse first and make them happy. That’s the best kind of love your children can see and learn from. And lastly, give and expect nothing in return. This is a hard one. Sometimes, we give and expect to get special treatment or something. The beauty behind true love is giving with all your heart and not expecting to get anything in return. And this is an everyday thing, not just once in a while, or when you feel good. Give and don’t expect. Love is an everyday process. Thank you @anngyfinance_ @anngybel_o fir always demonstrating this. For many of our earlier years, we had viewed our strengths as his “thing” and her “thing”. I loved and still love to set atmospheres that create a sense of peace and joy, whether it’s an event or a personal space; while my darling husband loved and loves to cook and bring joy through the tastebuds of his guests. They seemed so separate (in our eyes) for a time, but the more we paid attention to the times we did them together, the more we realized that we were TRULY in God’s flow, when we acted as a team. Since we have joined “the flow” life has been so much more magical and joyful. Even in the midst of these strange Covid times, we have been able to touch lives and give God the glory, while we get to experience the joy of smiling faces in the midst of uncertainty. Joining forces is not always easy, but if you remain open to God’s perfect will for your life and ask Him to temper your spirit to receive guidance from His heavenly navigational system, you WILL experience a life truly worth living. True joy and fulfillment comes from doing what you love, with who you love, while spreading love. That’s what @cheffin_ari and I are here for and this is what Love Is.
