Tbh in the later seasons i kinda have a harder time seeing Dean loving Cas in many moments, but then there are moments like their date night, or purgatory, or the whole divorce arc where its like yeah duh...
Its kinda contradictory given how much closer they are in these seasons, but their bond is just so different from earlier seasons. I guess my brain just wants continuity so much that a different kind of romantic bond does not compute for me lol...
Also Kaia was def dead for real but they probably brought her back bc the fanbase was mad. That makes the destiel paralels even stronger lol.... Like the love interest was not in fact dead but in a different realm, and their not partner did not take it well.
Also, Chuck is by far the best part of this season, the whole meta stuff is, and I hate how many completely filler episodes are happening.

Claire isn't stupid. Show a girl your scars, doesn't make her yours.
There was a stained glass in the church her parents took her to when she was small, depicting a pretty woman with wings. An angel, her mother had said. I want to marry her, Claire had replied. They prayed for her that day, the whole damn congregation.
~~~
"Why'd you follow me?" Kaia asks.
"Why'd you jump in front of a spear for me?" Claire retorts, then immediately regrets it when Kaia curls in further around herself, like she's protecting her abdomen. It's a scar Claire hasn't seen.
Look, we all know Kaia and Claire do be smooching, but this is a really good character study on the fact that these two are so fucking traumatized
For Suptober 2025 Day 24: Cemetery & Day 25: Game Night
On AO3 or under the cut
A week before Halloween, Kaia suggested a family game night.
Of course she'd also suggested they go on a scavenger hunt in a cemetery, so Claire wasn't sure whether to be impressed or worried.
Kaia had been… different since they'd gotten her back from the Bad Place. And , well, duh. But it was still concerning.
Now Claire kept an eye on Kaia even as she juggled the scavenger list and her flashlight, because of course they were doing this at night.
Alex and Patience shouted smack talk back and forth with Jody and Donna, their flashlights bobbing off in the distance as the other two teams raced to complete the list first, but Kaia had only gotten quieter the longer they'd spent in the graveyard.
Kaia was now standing at the foot of a grave, her flashlight trained on the headstone, just staring.
She hadn't moved in good five minutes.
Claire finally bit the bullet. "You okay?"
Kaia jumped, dropping into a defensive stance, as her head twitched toward Claire unnaturally fast.
Claire froze, knowing that any sudden movements would probably make things worse. "Hey," She said quietly. "You're okay."
Kaia blinked, her eyes unnaturally wide and her breathing heavy as she scanned the darkness around them. "I— Shit." She sank her free hand into her hair, tugging like she wanted to pull it out. "One thing… Could I not just have this one thing without…" Her face crumpled as she turned back to Claire.
Claire moved closer, shoving her flashlight and the damned list into her pockets so she could grab hold of Kaia's hand, squeezing it tight.
Kaia curled into Claire, burying her face in Claire's neck as she trembled.
Claire stood steady, wishing there was something she could say, something she could do that would make everything better. As it was, all she could do was hold on and hope that that was enough. Neither of them mentioned the moisture that soaked the collar of Claire's shirt.
"Claire? Kaia?" Jody suddenly called. "Where are you? We're heading back to the car."
Kaia startled upright, frantically dashing the tears away from her face as she glanced in Jody's direction with a whispered, but still emphatic, "Shit."
"We'll be right there," Claire called back, thinking fast. She reached up and mussed up her own hair, biting her lips roughly and, for once, thanking her lucky stars for her stupidly pale complexion. "We got a little distracted."
Kaia grinned gratefully, her breath catching slightly as she calmed. She stepped forward, wrapping her hand around the back of Claire's neck and pulling her in. She kissed Claire… very thoroughly.
Claire blinked, a little dazed as they separated, her face warm against the cool night air.
Kaia's grin was warm, if a little smaller than usual as she explained, "Just so we don't make a liar out of you."
I wanted to make a piece centered around Castiel on a hunt with his two children, Claire and Jack. I was very happy with the end result.
The talented @friendofcarlotta claimed my art and wrote a story that was everything I wanted (Claire and Jack siblingism, found family, Castiel being a great dad) and more (compelling worldbuilding, angel/human partnerships, halo kink).
If anything I mentioned piqued your interest, I’ll highly recommend checking out the story: After the Rapture.
These lovely people have been hard at work creating beautiful pieces of art to go with the fics they’ve claimed. A couple of them have posted for this year, but have a peek at some of their past work as a preview! Give them some love and help us cheer them on as we arrive at the finish line!
Summary:
The only ghosts and demons are the ones inside his head.
Fresh from a prematurely-ended stint at an inpatient psychiatric facility, ‘former’ self-harmer and functional alcoholic Dean Winchester returns to Sioux Falls, where he works as a crime journalist. His editor, Bobby Singer, sends him back home to Lawrence to gather the story on the murder of a teen boy and the recent disappearance of another. Painful memories from growing up resurface, and the investigation is further complicated by the town’s gossipy tight-knit nature, Dad’s judgment, and botched attempts at making inroads with his estranged half-family, Kate and Adam Milligan.
Dean crosses paths with Castiel Novak, a renegade detective from Kansas City with a troubled past of his own. They work together, slipping past each other’s facades, digging down toward the truth.
As it turns out, monsters just might be real—and they just might live at home.
