Hi guys I just finished dream high 1 and I'm just not satisfied with the ending and here's why:
The kids all have so much fun but they sell separate due to the loneliness of the dream they want to achieve. I know it was going to happen but, the ending never had them really reuniting and interacting with each other.
The fact that Pil Suk gave up on her dream because she was happy being chubby is kind of bullshit. She was one of the people that worked the hardest for this goal. It's true that she did get nervous on stage but, never said that she didn't like it. In fact, it was obvious that she had in preforming. Pil Suk worked so hard through the whole show. She took gutiar lesson, composed her own songs, lost 30 kilos in 200 days, and had absolute pitch. I don't care that Sam was a "musical genius" Pil Suk was the most hard-working and so excited to get into Kirin and follow her dreams. I think the plot device of her gaining weight was just to show that Jason didn't love her for her looks but, we didn't need that it was obvious what they had was real. Also the fact that in ten years they didn't see each other often makes me so sad but, I'm pretty sure they were still together so that's okay.
The fact that Hye-mi never confesses to Sam is just WHAT? I know that Sam saw the wallet photo and Hye-Mi probably didn't want to give Sam any reason to stay but, it resulted in Sam basically never getting closure and me never getting closure!!!! I just want to hear her admit it to him. It isn't fair to Sam. Also the fact that in ten years they basically never see each other but, are always thinking of each other fucked me up. WAY TO BREAK A GIRL'S HEART. Kind of happy that Hye-mi never went back to Opera but didn't sing aggressive pop because that's the perfect medium for her voice and style.
So yeah I feel like for pil-suk, Hye-mi, and Sam the endings for them were just kind of ignoring a lot of the progress they all made at Kirin. Pil-suk gave up on her dream to eat (i get the hard demands for a pop star but, it still makes me super sad that she can't have both of the things that make her happy) which basically brought her back to the begining of her story besides with a boyfriend. Sam and Hye-Mi don't really get closure which is literally all I was looking forward to the whole entire show. Once again about getting both things that make you happy, it's so discouraging knowing that they had concerts at the same time!!! I wanted to see them together again and she should've confessed at the bus!!!! Why!!!!
This is just my opinion I'm kind of sad now because I really liked the show and the ending was kind of depressing for me. I feel like I need some fanfiction to give me closure.
Oh one more thing about the love triangle. I feel like in the begining si hyuk and Hye-Mi were fated because of the whole childhood friend thing but, when si hyuk left their fate changed and Sam became the better match for her. I'd like to believe this rather than think that the childhood friend thing was just a plot device to toy with the audience and make them confused. Also I like how different si hyuk and Sam are with Hye-Mi leaving. Si hyuk wants her to follow her dreams and Sam wants to stay by her side. Honestly, I really wished they were all still super close when they all met again but once again THEY DONT SHOW ANY INTERACTION WITH THE CHARACTERS BESIDES PIL-SUK AND JASON?!?!?!?
Sorry I'm kind of sad I'm gonna stop now.
