As a very traditional witch - no pun intended - in the third day after my choice to walk forth the Path, I barely got my feet back in the Craft and went soul-flying. I had the most beautiful dream about my grandmother, who passed away around two years ago. I couldn't attend her funeral, I live abroad, an ocean and a hemisphere away from the land where I was born. I still haven’t had a chance of seeing her grave. No, she was not a Witch herself. My simple hereditary Craft and its basic maneuvers I learned through my mother and I was connected to the Old Powers through my Brothers from our Clan of the Scarlet Serpent. But the Saint Graal does travel from Atemporality in Spirit and Blood. My grandmother was at first a fervorous catholic. She dedicated her two firstbornes with names to Our Lady of the Appeared Conception (She herself was a "Conceição" on surname). At last she was deeply evangelical. She prayed every day and night with her veil and used to pray in tongues at the church. She was a woman persecuted by visions and terribly afraid of ghosts and apparitions, and instead of dealing with her Talents, she tried to hide herself in blind religion, with Adam's Folk. She was a central figure on my early upbringing because of hardships in the family after a very ill sister with a rare genetic condition, 11 months younger than me, that died when I was two. She helped my mother at the most difficult and critical times, and she was in my childhood a very solid rock. At the end she couldn't control her hallucinations anymore and "got crazy", or so they say - started seeing my deceased grandfather everywhere and  was tormented by different beings and shadows on the grass, on the gardens, on the windows. I will never forget her endless care and love, even though she was in fact a very austere woman who endured greatest hardship in life, whom you wouldn't steal an easy smile from. In this beautiful oneiric travel, I went to this cemetery, which was really more of a cave to the Otherworld. But when I entered and walked a little bit it opened in grey skies to a beautiful and very rocky meadow between walls. I walked a little path with stones through other important graves to me and thus came to this black rectangular stone where she now rested. It was not a proper grave per se but I knew that was her place. When I approached it, I saw that my sister-cousin (with whom I was virtually raised together by her) was also visiting her. We had a "ticket" to stay there from 6pm till 7pm. She showed me where Grandma left a black notebook with silver symbols and adornments for us, with pictures of our best times and a personal message for every child she raised including us. I remember seeing it and touching it and reading it, but I cannot remember what exactly was written. I was overwhelmed with the fact that she couldn't have physically written, since she lost practically all her movements in her last years, and that brought me to the consciousness that I was having another lucid dream. Unfortunately this made me awake in a rush and I couldn't stay connected, as it's been some years that I had a lucid dream and lost the training to stay on the other side. So I guess I will have to come back soon, Grandma :) Until today I haven't made a public statement or mourned at all (officially) her loss. She was many years paralyzed in a bed, where she could barely show that she acknowledged we were there. It was a painful bitter end, of a difficult bitter life, and I was more than relieved when she finally went home to our Palace. She did not find a way to deal with her spiritual talents in this life, and was constantly persecuted by evil spirits, memories and Bad Luck. She couldn't fulfill her Purpose ("Karma"), but as I live on and as a good Son of the Rose, I will continue to bare her Destiny and Mine through my Blood and Spirit.
