Average Analysis Post Writing Process For Vert Verdantglow
Me: I’m going to write a post about how Abolish Veylocke doesn’t get easily clocked as an unreliable narrator because many of the lies he tells the audience are also lies he tells himself, & I’m going to compare this to Owen, who is also lying to himself, as well as the ways other characters are unreliable that are more easily identified.
Me: [a couple of paragraphs in mention the episode six Bloodletting scene as a good example of Owen lying to the audience because he’s first lying to himself, literally saying I could write essays just about this scene but I’m going to just state the part important for leading into my thoughts about Abolish lying to himself]
Also me: [immediately spend over half an hour writing seven paragraphs that are together double the length of the rest of the post so far, purely about Owen’s cognitive dissonance between how he views his relationship with Louis & how he feels about Doc, & the disastrous solution he reaches just before attacking Doc, the narrative he tells himself (& therefore the audience) about who Doc is & what he does in order for Owen to both preserve the beliefs he’s been desperately clinging to & to not feel like he’s betraying Louis]
Me: [realize what I have just done] …I might be a little uncontrollably intense about these two.
Me: But it’s well after midnight & trying to extricate my Bloodletting ranting from this post in order to get to the point I wanted to make about ABOLISH is going to require desktop browser level editing, not possible on the iOS app, & so is going to have to wait.
