Overcoming the 3 basic fears, part 1
In his article, Overcoming the Three Key Fears for Success and Happiness, Phillip Mountrose states that there are basically three fears that get in the way of us achieving our dreams;
fear of failure,
fear of the unknown,
and fear of what others think.
Although I agree with those three, I would also include
fear of success
(the one I personly struggle with).
I don’t worry about failure because I know that is just part of the process.
The unknown does not faze me because I know that change is the only constant in life and there is no way to know, or control, how things will change.
I don’t fear what others think because I honestly believe "What other people think of me is none of my business" as
Dr. Wayne Dyer
says.
When I allow myself to go there, my anxiety is about being so successful that I get overwhelmed. What if my books become as well known as my mentors and teachers
Wayne Dyer
and
Iyanla Vansant
(I learn through their writings and examples not directly). Then THEY might want me to go on a world tour or host a daily show taking me away from my family and flexible schedule (both high on my values list).
Well, I keep myself from going there by
trusting Spirit to co-create my best life
not focusing on a future that is yet to happen
knowing that I always have the choice to say “No” to anything that does not fit my personal values.
So now you know my biggest fear, what's yours?
Which of these four fears do you struggle with the most?
Hit reply, I want to know.
