I just finished watching Cars 2 for the 8475924838th time, and honestly I hope there is L O T S of Mater/McQueen friendship support in Cars 3. I know Sally and Cruz will probably be surrounding him the most but if there's anyone who can help Lightning keep his head and make him feel worthwhile, it's Mater. I just really hope they don't push their friendship to the back to make room for the newer characters.

I headcanon that Karamatsu is a dog-person and oh boy, did I injure myself thinking about him getting a job as a dog walker.
This scene right here is full of good things and I think about it a lot. Namely the way it point-blank defies everything we’ve built and come to believe about the Matsus.
Specifically, - Older brothers tend to be less violent to their younger brothers. - Totty hates physical violence and therefore opts to be sneaky and calculated. - Kara adores all of his little brothers to the core and would never lay a hand on them. - Totty and Kara cherish Jyushi in particular and are specifically kind to and protective of him, no brother is ever mean to Jyushi. - Choro often protests when things like this happen because it’s just no way to act and as the responsible brother, he needs to say something. - The general concern is that Oso is scary and everyone should be on edge whenever he decides to get violent.
Yet here we have these three very excitedly getting up to kick Jyushi’s ass. It’s pretty great lmao I lose it because underneath all of the voices you can hear Kara (bless Nakamura-san’s wonderful voice) giggling really giddy, it’s amazing lmao He can’t wait to beat up his little Jyushimatsu~
It’s petty cool when you’re watching Cour 2 and their characters have solidified by now, they’ve all been totally established, and you come back to scenes like this where it all gets chucked out the window. Idk I just really like it, it’s pretty funny. Rare Suiriku D-mouth, also.
I sincerely hope with all of my being that Pixar doesn't do that thing where Lightning spends all of his time with Cruz because she's training him and it makes Sally feel insecure because she's more in his league than she is - or some other excuse - and they imply that something could happen between Lightning and Cruz. Don't do that. Do not do that. Don't even hint at it, get that away from me and chuck it to the bottom of the ocean. Sally is a vibrant and confident lady who trusts her bf, Lightning is not a weasel and loves Sally with all of his heart, and Cruz is a decent and respectable young lady who wouldn't even think of doing something like that. I'm watching you, Pixar.
I really need Yusaku to cruise around town on a regular skateboard out of duels, please let it happen.
