I'm So Pissed Off About This
There's a comment in TFS' Dragon Ball At The Movies video on Dragon Ball Evolution about how easy it would've been to make the movie about Gohan going to school.
And I can't get it out of my head.
Gohan goes to school in the Buu Saga. Has a classmate love interest. He'd definitely be bullied. He'd definitely deal with bullies that way.
You can have a plot that a bad guy is collecting the Dragon Balls for nefarious purposes. Gohan takes Videl. Replace all the training sequences with Videl training sequences.
You can have a scene of Videl trying to light candles with ki, and Gohan comes to help her and she's the one wanting to show off. The shot of Justin Chadwin lighting three candles at once and being so proud of himself — I can picture Videl doing that in her own way
You could add a bit of lore that saiyans without tails can transform into Great Ape under a total eclipse, and you can have a scene of Gohan turning Great Ape in front of Videl and it really starts to dawn on her that Gohan is not really human, that'd be an amazing scene for their relationship
Dragon Ball Evolution's plot could work if you just make it about Buu Saga Gohan.

The Melania "documentary" propaganda slop has a LOWER AUDIENCE SCORE THAN DRAGON BALL EVOLUTION.
I was reading some old internet stuff and someone insulted Dragon Ball Evolution by saying “imagine if they made a One Piece movie set entirely in high school” as if that wasn’t an awesome idea. I’d watch the Marineford adaption of that for sure
