A Hip-Hop pioneer and member of the Rock Steady Crew that New York Times once called āthe foremost breakdancing group in the world todayā Doze Greenās art evolved from subway-tagging to walls and canvases influenced by both Cubism and paintings of the Edo Period of Japan. Greenās paintings are contemplations on the metaphysical, exploring themes of matter and consciousness, time and immortality. Jonathan LeVine Gallery calls his work stream-of-consciousness painting and says he is known for live painting performances. Green painted this interpretation of Tiamat, the ancient Babylonian goddess of the salt sea, at the corner of 7th St. and Stewart Ave., for the crowds of the inaugural Life Is Beautiful Festival in Downtown Las Vegas.
