My opinion of Will Stronghold: Heart of Gold, Dumb of Ass.
Honestly, the kid doesn't have a bad bone in his body, but he does lack will in the sense that he puts everyone else and what they think first. It's very interesting because even an hour-ish into the movie he's still following everyone else's lead, which is also very interesting because of how the Stronghold name is put above others. They're the quintessential heroes and that status is synonymous with leadership.
But Will here is doing what his parents want, he's trying to fulfill their expectations, even his "sidekick" friends Zach and Ethan speak for him which leads him into getting into a confrontation with Speed and Lash, Gwen manipulates him subtly and isolates him from Layla and his other friends, he gets tricked/forced into throwing a party, and overall he always does what other people want instead of doing anything he wants for himself. Even with his relationship with Warren, they're enemies at first because of the preexisting relationship between their fathers who are enemies. Things are dictated for him.
The only thing so far he really does for himself (so far at the point of the movie I'm at) is dump Gwen Grayson and try to chase after Layla to salvage their friendship. It's just so interesting how even with having his powers now he still can't really dictate or direct his life in a direction that he wants to go in.
