        & her voice abruptly broke the silence,          one she'd long since chosen to deem                      D E A F E N I N G .          as her gaze adverted towards you,          poison dripped from each syllable          that fell so delicately from her tongue ; ;          call it a pathetic attempt to seem         somewhat ( intimidating )          play the LION rather than the LAMB---          as if anyone truly cared regardless. 

The house breathes it. Deeply, blood dripping into the walls and floors long ago and dried to crumbled ashes by now, not even  known to anyone who would look for it, even if they knew. Places take the essence of their owners, even more so if they never left it, and there are a lot of whispering voices here. It's what drew his attention in the first place — what got him towards it, because it did not look much different from a hundred and a thousand places he had seen. It's an old place, and most it's inheritances are old souls themselves, too.  

It's curiousity that makes him wonder why it became like that, why he can hear the breath of things that should not breathe, but in a  different way than himself. It would not be the first time to step up towards a ghost, or another creature from the other world — it is just rare to have that many assembled, in a number that could  well hurt a demonic soul themselves.

        He doesn't exactly care.

The door is locked, but this has long stopped being a problem for Jonathan, it slips open just as easily. He wonders if he will find  living souls, too, if the dead ones just overlaid their presence.
