this motherfucker in front of me, as lights went down, had his phone on FULL BRIGHTNESS doing random shit even as the show started and u could hear ppl laughing around us in disbelief because genuinely what the fuck bro

kinda love how you could hear sam's past accent work in this role (unintentionally). like i heard the french really clearly. u got used to it as the show went on tho

when he started singing and the chorus came in it was so BEAUTIFUL and then the set was revealed and wow i love theatre

the set itself is fucking GORGEOUS. beautiful use of a single set + revolving stage, lowk spent a hot second thinking abt where the actors disappeared off to

pamela rabe was INCREDIBLE her accent work was immaculate, her line delivery was so natural and clear and dry and engaging, her presence was everything

the same motherfucker was crinkling shit the whole way through the show and i genuinely wanted to strangle him and you could see other audience members look over at him in disgust like BROTHERRR be RESPECTFUL this is theatre

sister james was really lovely, but her line delivery lowk took me out of the play at times

father flynn was GUILTY he was SO GUILTY and i like how you could hear when the audience realised he was guilty for real

^ on that note, the house was nearly full and so engaged and vocal and it was such a lovely theatre experience. theres little i hate more than a dead audience

the actress who played donald's mother had the BEST accent, she was so believable and real and her scenes filled me with so much dread -- you can see how she got to where she is mentally, but its so horrifying to realise that parents like her exist irl

they built the tension up so effectively, my heart was racing at the major confrontations -- it barely felt like 90min, it went so much faster

i enjoy that when i was leaving my seat, literally everyone around me was complaining about THAT ONE MOTHERFUCKER

this was my first stage door experience ever, and it'll genuinely never be beat

shannen came out first and she was so sweet and personable and her signature is SO cute

when sam first came out i genuinely nearly died esp bc we were nearly at the front of the line and i wasnt mentally prepared! but he was so lovely and polite (and so clearly wanted to go home he was so reserved and awkward i get you my guy)

pamela was SO LOVELY. she made her autograph out to our names and obv its partially to stop resellers but its so nice having it personalised and she was so gorgeous and her energy was immaculate. im enamoured.

we had to loop back around because we forgot to ask for a photo with sam so that was a bit embarrassing but! i got a fucking photo w sam reid!!

he also very kindly signed my copy of blood communion :)
