What an insanely beautiful cosmic picture from the King... hard to believe that THIS is what people criticize as “Kirby being in decline!!!” 👁👁👁 This awesome double splash page comes from Captain Victory #Issue7 from September of 1982. We see Captain Victory and his fleet stumble upon this massive face in outer space... the Giant Galactic Eye!!! 👁👁👁 If this is how the story starts artistically, you can only imagine the insane designs that Kirby would employ when bringing the Wonder Warriors into this issue (check back in the feed, we did a whole post on those fantastically designed characters sometime ago- Mike). Kirby has his cosmic greatness hitting on all angles with this insane alien head... and the beautifully Kirby-Tech adorning the bottom two panels (from inside Cap’s ship!) are throwbacks to Kirby’s FF days!!!
