~okay so i hc dorcas as trans (mtf) and it’s a hill from which you cant drag me down
~had the most supportive and loving parents ever
~she figured it out around around late 2nd year, somewhere around 12-13, and started transitioning around 13
~third year, she moved into the girls’ dorms
~and guess which dorm she moved into
~lily, alice and marlene’s
~so yes, they were roommates
~i also feel like she was the absolute best at braiding hair
~the others could never really nail it the way she could- absolute perfect braids that’d stay in place forever
~but she never braided her own hair because it was too short and curly (though there was that one time in fifth year she got cornrows), so everyone was left wondering where on earth she learnt it from
~(she taught herself after watching her own mother)
~and in late, whiskey hazed nights with marlene, as they were both barely awake, she’d find herself making small, messy braids in marlene’s bleached blonde hair
~awesome at quidditch, but wasn’t interested in the team
~it did, however, mean makeout sessions way up and lost between the trees
~(marlene absolutely did not almost faint and end up falling into a tree the first time)
~little spoon, and loves cuddles though she doesn’t seem like it
~sometimes she’ll bury her head in marlene’s chest, and marlene will take that as a sign to pull her even closer til the lines between them start to blur
~doesn’t get jealous easily, cause she knows marlene is loyal
~and oh is there so much to dig in on marlene
~like every other marauders stan out there, i believe her first kiss was sirius
~it was at a time that she wasn’t too secure with herself, or maybe just trying to figure it all out
~so in third year, she asked him out
~sirius was so shocked and confused, but after some coaxing from james, he eventually agreed
~neither of their gay asses them knew what to do next
~they went on a couple of dates, and started growing really close
~but it was sirius who cracked first, during their first kiss- it was awkward and neither of them knew what to do
~he’d pulled away immediately, and she could see in his eyes that he didn’t like this at all
~they both knew they were gay in that moment
~the two confessed it to each other then and there
~and swore to keep the others’ secret
~coincidentally, that was the year that dorcas moved over to her dorm room
~so many close encounters, where marlene was ranting all about it to a very amused lily, and suddenly shut up as dorcas appeared from the doorway
~it was around fifth year, after sirius and remus’d gotten together that dorcas finally plucked up the courage to spill her feelings out
~she did it over a letter
~leaving it on marlene’s bed early in the morning, before quietly disappearing to the quidditch pitch to burn off her nervousness
~marlene cried when she read it
~it’s almost like she knew where dorcas was, because before she knew it, she was running out desperately, struggling to hop in a hurry as she pulled her shoes on
~but that warm feeling was taking over her slowly, from her heart to her fingertips
~she spotted dorcas high up and lost in the mist, and dorcas could recognise those bleached waves from anywhere
~it was around then that the best kiss either of them had ever felt- by miles- had occured
