Awkward though it was, given how adamantly Sorcha was against their impending union, they couldn’t avoid Lord Dorian forever. It was possible they might be able to convince the Autumn Lord that this arrangement was a terrible idea, if not through reasoning and logic, then at least through being disagreeable and obnoxious. And since their mother had denied them the opportunity to meet their fiance beforehand, Sorcha took it into their own hands to call upon Dorian at his estate. They would decide for themself if he was worth their time and energy. They were shown in by a servant, who deposited Sorcha in a sitting room to wait. Rather than sit, Sorcha chose to wander the room, taking in the decor and rehearsing the arguments they’d prepared... oh, who were they kidding? They were winging this as much as anything else they’d ever done in their life, and were so caught up in annoyed nerves that they didn’t notice the lord of the house enter.
