#door hinge

Hi friend! I'm so sorry. I hadn't looked at my inbox in ages so I have no idea how long yours has been sitting there. Aaand I don't know what you're asking. I'm assuming orange is tied to a specific question in some ask prompt list but I cannot find it when searching my blog. Sorry friend!

Of all the doors I’ve seen in my day, this has got to take the cake!  The number of forge-welds required to join all the pieces and get a continuous sheet from one hinge to the next... ugh!  Then to mirror that for the other door... double ugh! The symmetry is genuinely amazing!

Just uploaded another hoodie, too.  I’ve been thoroughly impressed with the quality of shirts I’ve bought through this outlet and now have a full wardrobe of them.  The larger sizes fit larger men better than I can find in the big box stores!

Crisp and clean!  Forging everything out, getting all the lines nice and smooth, and hitting the little window just right so it’s centered on the board..... 

This is a gorgeous hinge strap.... and that window grille ain’t too shabby, neither!

The hinge appears to have been cut from a large sheet, not edge welded like some want to believe.  That much forge welding on the edge would have been nightmare to accomplish so cleanly, and rather costly.  

You can tell that the hinge was made with the door in hand, rather than by some  blacksmith far off.  Even with detailed blueprints, it would be impossible for someone to line up the bolt holes so perfectly, landing them dead on the center of each board in the door.  I’ve seen a lot of people try, but there are always variables you can’t control for, and they always end up out of alignment.

Whoever did this work was a real pro.  Classy and elegant, but solid, too.
