We are modern day Slaves
I am sitting here, thinking, a rare activity in this world full of distractions. I am positive that you know what I am talking about. Reels. Shorts, posts, etc. People have become passive participants in their own lives. What was supposed to be a masterpiece of nature, a unique blend of experiences, emotions, and thoughts, has become a common, almost identical existence. It terrifies me. It is terrifying because imagine having the profound knowledge of self being wasted in passivity yet not being able to stop it. Being a prime example of it myself, I know what losing autonomy to mere devices feels like. Even after independence, some of us are still slaves but with different masters. I love to write. I love to create things. 17 years into this existence, and yet all I have created, I have created in my mind. No evidence of my creativity because I was too busy. Busy doing what? Engaged in short artificial dopamine captivity. Why are we even so addicted to the point of harm? I believe there is some sort of emotional attachment coupled with wiring to produce happy chemicals. The emotional part, though, I want you to focus more on. Phones have replaced human relationships. It has replaced connectivity. Not entirely so, but it mimics companionship. In our sadness, we have reels to lighten our minds. While loneliness knocks on your door, no problem; we have A. I to talk to. Your sexual needs are taken care of. Your source of knowledge, trust me, brother; I possess more knowledge than your human counterparts. So you don't have to engage in messy real and often more meaningful relations. We have become so dependent on it that our lives are the lives of our phones. Our spirit is confined within a gilded cage that appears as a crown. We have become Queens and Kings of borrowed reality. Are your thoughts yours? A better question: Are you even capable of forming coherent thoughts without taking the help of your A.I.? Who is benefiting from this? From us being slow-witted and unassertive? Now, now I don't mean to chastise you for a ubiquitous problem; rather, I want your opinions and ideas. What do you think?
