Anyways, follow for news about the awaited film. I'll try to keep it updated... God knows I need the distraction and Tangled (no matter the form) has always brought light into my life.

Mother Knows Best (reprise) - Donna Murphy/Tangled
You know what I think sometimes about my own life? That I was born too late to really have an intimate relationship with the Disney Franchise and all its subsidiaries. In the early 2000's, Disney was beginning to transition away from 2D into 3D animation and with that transition came the end of what some consider the "Golden Age" of Disney. I never really watched The Lion King or Snow White or even Hercules until I was well past the age of adolescence.
Thankfully, I can say that I sleep pretty soundly amid my missing of a Golden Age considering that I was a child when the Tangled movie came out, which is probably the first "modern" Disney princess movie. And I'm not counting The Princess and the Frog since that movie is less of the classical princess that we all envision in our minds! I remember as a child I went to New York and my mom bought a bootleg CD of Tangled filmed from a movie theatre (my first slime tutorial) and God I was hooked. I even had the Rapunzel doll which changed hair colour depending on the temperature! Tangled was really my first foray into all things musical related, and I'm very happy about that.
There are so many good songs from this soundtrack. Hit after hit after hit if you will, but for some reason the reprise of Mother Knows Best just hits so so well. It's an exemplary case study in how to speak musically rather than sing, and the sentences still follow a certain cadence that matches very well with the instrumentation in the first half of the song. Murphy's voice is very light and has a lilt that contrasts the actual character so well, and it musically portrays how much of a liar and manipulator Mother is.
There are so many amazing annunciation choices in the song as well! Right after the "no" is spoken, the p in Rapunzel is sung with more anger. "This is why he's here" elongates the vowel to make it rounder and more unusual, really pulling the listener in. My favourite choice is on the "If he's lying" because the if sounds like she puts it farther back in her throat and is honestly kind of disgusted with Rapunzel. I really think you could well-analyze every single beat in every single measure of this song. Please give it a listen, close your eyes, and experience Donna Murphy's absolute masterclass in spoken word and annunciation.
