So... On Valentine's we made the decision to claim our union with Chinese style celebrations 2026. My partner is from Sichuan, I'm Nordic.
We have long now discussed an alternative for traditional marriage and wedding and on Valentine's week he proposed this. I'm over the moon and will be blasting my Tumblr with bursts of "wedding inspo". Or as we call it 摆酒 “laying out the wine" celebrations.
I definitely want my dress to be made from this Dongbei style "big flower" fabric. I know it's a bit kitsch but I absolutely love it and it does remind me of childhood aesthetics of my own grandmothers etc.
I have also mentioned I absolutely want a lion dance and some Sichuan dishes we both love.
I found out about this song from one of Liu Yuning's livestreams, and it cracks me up. The song title means "Men Gotta Fight," and it's super Dongbei style. The singer's portrait and his voice are 👌
