so if you think abt it? is writing with ai actually that bad anyways? since it steals from us and wouldn’t exist without us, as long as the writing is good i guess. i don’t see a problem with it anymore since what it pushes out is technically OUR shit

i could list out all the reasons why using ai is not a good thing. such as:

every time you use an ai chatbot it collects data on you. a user profile, of your interests, your name, email, political affiliation, all data you don't want out there. if that doesn't scare you, it should. because these chatbots are run by companies. with ceos. who can access this data if they want to, and ceos have agendas, which can change, so they can sell the data for a quick buck. if a malintended government seizes your data and identifies you as a target, you are in danger.

cooling ai data centres uses millions of gallons of water a day, because millions of people use it per day. there are now countries who no longer have access to clean, safe drinking water. hate to break it to you, but people need water to survive. if we drink contaminated water, it could kill millions of innocent people. hope that scares you too.

ai usage is a form of plaigarism. it copies whatever it sees on the internet. people can work for hours on something and ai will make the same thing but watered down. it's disrespectful to the efforts of REAL artists. it's not our shit, it's slop pushed out by a thing without an empathetic brain.
