During our DoMore24 posts, we wanted to give an update on one of our adopted dogs, Sylvia (now Katrina). You may remember Sylvia if you’ve been following us for a while. During her transport to FOHA in 2016, Sylvia (a small shepherd mix) escaped in Chantilly, VA. Our dedicated volunteers didn’t give up on her and spent countless hours posting flyers, visiting businesses, and staking out parking lots. After five grueling weeks of searching for her, Sylvia was successfully trapped behind a restaurant (A huge thank you to the Chick-Fil-A in Chantilly!) Thankfully, Sylvia was deemed to be in very good health after her time on the run– a true testament to her survival skills. At the time of her return to FOHA, she was semi-feral and deemed a flight risk. FOHA volunteers worked to rehabilitate the shy dog and get her used to being around people and going for walks. After 16 months at FOHA, Sylvia was finally adopted by a wonderful family. Her name was changed to Katrina. Since being adopted, Katrina is living her best life. She enjoys the company of her canine siblings, long daily walks with her mom and dad, and cuddling on the couch. Your donation to FOHA helps us save even more dogs and cats. Have you donated yet?
